Hebridean Seaweed Company has demonstrated their continued lead in the seaweed harvesting market with another award that highlights their “excellence in environmental sustainability.”

This award, which was presented at the Scottish Council for Development and Industry Awards in September 2011, was the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) and Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) award for Excellence in Environmental Sustainability.

The award follows their incredible success in 2010, when Hebridean Seaweed Company won the Crown Estate Marine Business Award, which specifically commended the company on their sustainable approach.

Of this recent award, Managing Director Martin Macleod said: “Since the inception of the company it has always been our policy to work closely with government and environmental bodies and local communities to ensure that all our operations are carried out in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner.”
